Gentry Creek ~ Horses For Sale

Many High Quality Performance horses are donated to Equidon, Inc.
WHY DO PEOPLE DONATE?
There are numerous reasons:
~Performance issues, ~Behavioral problems, ~Burnout,
~Unwilling to go thru the hassle of "marketing",
~Their horse doesn't vet out,
~Divorce, death ,
~Unexpected move,
~Unable to get the
price they paid.
Many horse owners simply want to be more selective in where their horse goes, they want a say in his future. Donating makes this possible. It is our intention to match horse and rider. Our goal is to "hear" what it is that the horse wants to be doing, then find him a best friend so they can do it together.
For the horses with "issues" ~ we go to great lengths to correct what we can...be it chiropractic work, body work and massage, re-schooling, etc....
Amy Mitchell is an outstanding trainer with a wonderful gift for helping even the most complicated of horses. Often with show horses, the best medicine is simply a year of trail riding!
Currently our guests include 2 Grand Prix jumpers, one lovely Dressage Schoolmaster, and several T.B.'s all here on vacation from their stressful lifestyle and all enjoying the realization that life can be about more than just "work"!
We use only resistance free training methods.

Before and After pictures of past rescue horses with happy endings...
Sad to say, there are many horses in the condition that we found this sweet 6 yr old gelding in. This horse foundered 5 years ago and the owner was told by local farriers that he could be "fixed". The educational needs are tremendous for back yard horse owners! When you see something like this in someone's backyard, PLEASE don't hesitate to offer some kindness and information that might help prevent the continued suffering of these dependant animals!
SHINNER!! 14.2H Registered Quarter Horse, 6yr old gelding. A really pretty guy with a sweet disposition, all resistance free training, reining work, cattle work, English and Western, Trails, a bit of everything!! We will consider an offer to the right home...which is our main priority! Sound and no vices.
Chloe is one of the sweetest mares you could hope to find. She is a 15.3 H VERY well trained, QUIET Quarter horse, 8yrs old. She is delightful to ride, quiet and simple. Loves the trails and would make a nice lower level dressage horse as well, but no jumping.
She is delightful just to have in our barn and we are going to be particular where she goes. We are interested in adopting her out or a sponsorship.

Just to give those of you who are interested an idea of what horse rescue organizations are currently faced with due to the slaughter market closing, high price of hay, and owner ignorance and neglect etc...
This mare was unable to get up she was so weak. We were told she had been down for several days. It was sleeting out and freezing. Luckily her owner was OK with us putting her to sleep. There was no hope for her at this point. Hypothermia had already set in along with other issues.
PLEASE, if you see horses in need, contact your local animal rescue, or Sheriff. It can make all the difference! DON'T HESITATE TO ACT! WE MUST BE THE VOICE FOR THESE WONDERFUL ANIMALS.
UP FOR ADOPTION!
Darling LITTLE 5 yr old gelding. He is just precious! Great for a leadline pony or a companion or ?
LOOKING FOR SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS LOVELY MARE:
Sponsorship involves helping with the financial responsibility of a horse in our care. $350 per month covers everything but ANY amount that comes in we can apply towards the care and keeping of one more horse. This is TAX DEDUCTABLE. She is a 19 year old registered paint mare. Former owner rescued her a few months ago not knowing that she has some hoof issues. Also not knowing a divorce was in her future, after 27 years. This is the reason we now have the mare. She is lame in her front foot.
Our Current Needs:
Right now we are in need of sponsorship on several horses.
Any monthly amount would be a great help!
All donations are tax deductable!
